Americanlisted, founded in 2007, is a local online classified advertisements website that provides U.S. residents with a simple and safe way to sell and buy products and services within their own residential area/city. Our local reach offers users the ability to list and search classified ads in all states, all cities and all zip codes in the United States.
No Sign-up Necessary: Americanlisted does not require its users to create an account like other classified sites; we respect your privacy and want to make placing ads easy and hassle-free.

Our Story
When visiting New Jersey in 2006, Thomas Westling (President of Americanlisted.com) decided he was ready to invest in a Corvette, his dream car since childhood. His first thought was to hit the Web and see what local classified sites had to offer, but quickly became fed up with what was out there. Thomas was unable to find classifieds in his town in New Jersey because none of the bigger sites like Craigslist had listings on such a localized level. He found that many of the sites had confusing layouts, were difficult to navigate and simply didn't provide the opportunity to connect with people in his community.
After realizing it was nearly impossible to purchase a toaster, let alone a Corvette, in his local town, Thomas asked around and found there were no alternatives to the dominant sites whose main focus was on larger metro areas and a few major cities within each state.
When Thomas returned home from his trip, he reached out to his old friend Jani Välimaa to begin developing the site he envisioned - a pure local classified web site with listings for every city in every state, no matter how big or small they might be. After two years of dedication to the project, Americanlisted was born.
Using advanced search technology and a smart search engine to deliver an effective, user-friendly experience, Americanlisted's main function is to connect individuals with others in their own neighbourhoods. It is easy to navigate, has a clean layout and allows users to search at the most specific, localized level possible - all characteristics Thomas found lacking from other sites when he first tried to buy his Corvette.
