I am not an expert about antiques - but I do know what I like and what is unique and has good quality. In the past I've been told that chairs using mixed types of wood usually date to the early 1900s. That is how this rocking chair appears to be made. It also has a unique seat style - with the solid piece wrapping around from the seat down the front. (Hard to explain - see photo)
There appears to be a stain on the seat - looks like some sort of finish was spilled there. (See photo)
The smooth finish on these arms show how great loved this rocker was!
