For Sale: Singer 15-91 Sewing Machine ,vintage 1951 "Centennial" model. In your choice of carry case or desk cabinet. Includes attachments, foot controller and wiring, and some extra bobbins. Has been restored to Excellent near-mint Condition operationally. This model has a very strong direct-gear drive motor, it is one of the strongest domestic sewing machines you can buy, and way better quality than anything you can buy new. Includes a digital copy of the reference manual.
New wiring. Freshly oiled and the gears have been greased and it has been thoroughly tested sewing for several hours after completing the 'restoration' process. Broadly considered one of the best sewing machines Singer ever made, and this is a highly-collectible "Centennial" model and in wonderful condition. There is some wear of the clear glaze coat, but the decals are in almost perfect condition, the metal working parts are super-clean and the machine now runs just like I would guess it ran when it was new, nice and smooth, fast and super strong. If you want to sew through some really tough material, you really should try this model and compare it to other sewing machines.
This machine will sew through about 10-12 layers of denim without problems, even skip over humps from 8 to 11 layers without skipping stitches. You cant get a better workhorse vintage sewing machine in this great condition in this price range anywhere else. Just try it out, bring your toughest sewing samples and let the machine convince you itself!!!
ALSO --- I have another 15-91 in similar near-perfect condition, one in a case and one in a cabinet, as well as over a dozen other restored all-metal heavy-duty vintage sewing machines, so you can compare several machines in one trip. Ask for a discount if you buy more than one machine. I also have several newer models including light-weight portable free-arm sewing machines and some with embroidery-stitch cams. I also have lots of sewing machine parts and attachments, and I offer repair and maintenance services, and I am happy to consider trade-ins and other barter or exchange arrangements. I specialize in repairing/restoring the older/vintage machines but might be able to help with newer models.
