Merlin Labrador Retriever Young Female in Annapolis, Maryland
Description:
My story
Merlin is a 10-month-old spayed female black lab. Merlin weighs 35 pounds and is up to date on shots. Merlin must go to a home with another dog.Merlin is a shy girl, but she is coming out of her shell with the help of the resident dog, cat, and humans. She is adorable and likes to follow the resident dog around. She needs to go to a home with a fenced yard. Merlin is a precious pup that will put a spell on you! She may be black as night, but she's all about good magic. Like many young wizards, Merlin is quite shy and new to the Muggle world. She would do best with a quiet home and a patient, loving family to teach her the ropes. She is good with other dogs and cats. She is approved for kids ages 10 and up. Her first spell with Lab Rescue is "Accio a great family for me!" THE LATEST ON MERLINMerlin had a huge day - she actually joined her people on the couch!! She has grown so much since being with her foster. Merlin is still shy and fearful of humans, but she has come so far! She has such potential with lots of love and patience. She is approved for children 10 and up, will need a secured fenced yard, a playful dog pal, and a family who will give her the time and space to feel safe. She likes cats, too! Shy Merlin loves the resident dog. She also loves breakfast, dinner and her treats. She's still learning about humans but has adjusted to the routine and likes to be near her foster, but not too close. She is getting more confident every day. It looks like shes a sock thief, too. She is timid and shy, but loves her animal friends. She will need a family who will take the time to let her get used to humans. She needs a secure fenced yard and is approved for children 10 years old and up. She will definitely need an active dog to Pal around with. She likes cats too. UPDATE: Merlin has adjusted to foster's routine. She still warming up but seems to feel safe. She runs outside, comes back in, and goes into her crate or up to the bedroom under the bed. Merlin likes to be in the same room with foster. The crate door was left often and Merlin snuck into the bathroom to rip up the toilet paper! Merlin is settling in nicely with her foster. She is now approved for placement in a townhome in a quiet suburban neighborhood. She is a bit skittish and needs an adopter that will patiently let her come out of her shell. She gets along well with the resident 7-year-old pup and cats, and is not fazed by the rambunctious 10-year-old boy in the house. Merlin is crate- and potty-trained, although if startled she may tinkle a wee little. She runs up and down stairs without issue, and rarely makes a peep. She is beginning to get excited when foster mom comes down in the morning to release her from her crate, and she knows all about breakfast time! She is food-motivated for training and likes toys - and shredding them:) It is fun to watch Merlin learn about the nice things in life from the resident dog and humans!
