No need for a blanket if you've got this guy in your home. Meet Lars, the super snuggler extraordinaire! This 86lb Hound mix came to the Kentucky Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. Now that Lars is here he is showing us his wonderful and wiggly personality. Lars loves people! He will wiggle his whole hind end when he sees you. He makes you feel like you are his favorite person, even if you just met. Brace yourself, he will lean on you while you are petting him and just wants to be as close as possible. Sitting down? Lars believes lap dogs come in all sizes and he may try to climb in your chair with you. This guy lives for affection. While we haven't seen him with children, we believe he would love a child to snuggle so bring your kiddos to meet him. In the previous shelter Lars was attacked by some other dogs, which has made him fearful of dogs and is looking for a home where he can be the one and only doggo. I miss being in a home and have a lot of love to give.Heartworm Positive:This dog has been diagnosed as heartworm positive (HW+) and is undergoing treatment. While under treatment, there are certain exercise restrictions as well as a requirement to return to the shelter for further treatments until the dog is heartworm-free. An adoption counselor will be happy to explain the process of adopting and more about the parasite that causes heartworms. Due to the need to return for monthly treatment after taking a HW+ dog home, the adopter must live in one of the following counties to be approved for adoption: Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Henry, Trimble, and Shelby counties
